Tour Jumana – 2 Day Tour

Explore the beauty of Oman with our two-day tour of jumana. Our journey starts in Muscat, where we’ll head towards Sur. On the way, we’ll make a stop at Bamah Sinkhole, where you can swim in the sinkhole lake. Next, we’ll visit the long white Beach of Fins, and then continue to Wadi Shab, a beautiful canyon gorge that is lined with palm trees.

We’ll hike up through the canyon for 45 minutes, and finally, we’ll reach one of several crystal clear water pools. You can enjoy swimming in the warm water pools and eventually reach the last pool, where an opening among the enormous rocks allows us to swim into an incredible crevice cave with a small waterfall. Inside, the sunlight filters in from the outside, turning the water into a beautiful turquoise blue, while water showers down one side of the cave from the wadi beyond.

After that, we’ll move towards Ras al Hadd, where we’ll check-in to our Hotel/Camp. In the evening, we’ll take you to the Turtle sanctuary in Ras Al Jinz, where you can enjoy a guided beautiful walking tour on the beach at night under the stars. There’s a high chance of seeing Oman’s great sea turtles stumbling on to the beach to build a nest and lay their eggs. If you’re lucky, you can even see baby turtles hatching from some nests.

The second day of our tour starts with a sightseeing tour in Sur, one of the most important towns on the northern Omani cape. One of the last Omani shipyards is situated in Sur, and visitors will be taken to see one of the small workshops where Omani traditional boats are still manufactured by hand. We’ll then head back north to Wadi Tiwi, which is especially pretty with some small villages and a large banana plantation.

Leaving Tiwi, the tour makes a stop at the 16th Century tomb of Bibi Al Din, built by his wife, Bibi Mariam, and the site of the ancient village Qalhat. This city was allegedly described by Marco Polo and also visited by the Moroccan traveller, Ibn Battuta. In those times, Qalhat was one of the more important cities in Oman and had maritime control over Hormuz.

After a brief visit, the tour returns to Muscat.

Our tour includes accommodation, breakfast/dinner (depending on the hotel), an English-speaking driver/car, water/soft drinks, and entrance fees.
